| Just about an hour south of Boise is the
Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. The NCA encompasses
483,000 acres along 80 miles of the Snake River in southwest Idaho. The
river lies within a deep canyon with cliffs towering up to 700 feet above
the river. This unique landscape supports the densest nesting
concentration of birds of prey in North America. More than 800 pairs of
falcons, eagles, hawks and owls gather here each spring to mate and raise
their young. |
